Breast cancer has been top of mind for all of us for a  long time. Almost all research has focused on how to detect it in time, how to sort through treatment options and how to live with it post remission. Or how to handle recurrence. No conclusions on any of these so far. But then that has been and remains the challenge of cancer. Some of us have personal experience of watching close friends and family go through this heart breaking process and all we can say at the end of it all is that the fight was never going to be won. The end was delayed but it still came with a sense of inevitability that left you wondering why did you help prolong the pain and torture of treatment. To balance this was the thought that there was no way you were going to give up while there was life; that living on even in and with pain was always going to be the first choice for those suffering and those watching them suffer. So this brings us to what we have to consider today, which is how often should you take the test to check whether your breasts are lump-free…
