You Do Not Inherit Death

February 9, 2011

A small but significant study from Sweden on whether you should worry over the fact that your parent’s died young. You should not. While we need more research to conclusively make this statement, it is encouraging to read that lifestyle precautions and health preserving habits can indeed extend life spans. On the other hand it is just as correct to maintain that inherited genetic health risk is still a serious consideration in our lives. It is also true that there are enough studies in place to link inherited risks to certain chronic diseases (diabetes, cardiovascular) and life threatening illnesses (certain types of cancer).

This study however deals with markers that can in effect extend life despite what we call  risk factors. And your life style determines the outcome.
